Can robots write a song in the style of the Beatles? Yes, apparently

There’ll never be a bona fide Beatles reunion, but scientists at Sony’s CSL research lab have come up with an alternative: a song written by artificial intelligence that sounds like something that could’ve been penned by the Fab Four, TNW reports.

Microsoft Dis-Kinects Xbox One

With Sony’s PlayStation 4 increasing its commanding lead over the Xbox One, Microsoft made a play Tuesday to goose sales of its computer game console. The company announced it would start selling Xbox One without its Kinect controller — which allows a $100 price cut — and it removed the requirement that Xbox users subscribe to Live Gold to access streaming services they already subscribe to, such as Netflix and Hulu Plus.
The new $399 pricetag puts Xbox One on a par with PS4, which has shipped millions more units than its competitor.

PS4 sales pass 7 million units, while Xbox One licks its wounds and plans a comeback

The PS4 Rhombox, with controller
Sony’s PlayStation 4 is continuing to break sales records, passing 7 million units sold as of April 6. Meanwhile, in the Xbox One camp, Microsoft has remained ominously silent, failing to release sales figures since the end of 2013. Presumably, Microsoft was waiting to see if the release of Titanfall would give the Xbox One a healthy bump in sales — but now, a month later, we have to wonder why Microsoft is still mute on the matter. Are Xbox One sales truly that embarrassing? And if so, can we expect a dramatic price drop or the release of an Xbox One bundle without Kinect?

PS4 Reigns Supreme in Huge Video Game Sales Month

Sony’s PlayStation 4 remains top dog among the latest generation of consoles after March sales figures showed it continuing to outpace Microsoft’s Xbox One. Sony revealed earlier this week it had sold more than 7 million PS4 units worldwide, while Microsoft said it had shipped 5 million Xbox Ones to retailers to date. Microsoft reported sales of 311,000 Xbox Ones in the U.S. in March, while Sony sold an estimated 370,000 PS4 units. The PlayStation 4 led hardware sales for the third month in a row in March, the NPD Group said.
