Five people were killed and eight were injured in Friday’s shooting at the Fort Lauderdale-Hollywood International Airport. One man says that a MacBook Pro in his backpack saved his life.

Positive Train Control technology could have prevented Amtrak crash, experts say

Tuesday’s Amtrak derailment near Philadelphia that has so far killed eight people and injured more than 200 others could have been avoided with the use of technology known as Positive Train Control (PTC). PTC is a GPS-based system that can automatically stop a train before an accident occurs.
