T-Mobile Sows Seeds of Discontent in SMB Arena


Following a sterling Q4 in which it added 2.1 million individual customers, T-Mobile last week announced it was going after competitors with its “Un-carrier for Business” plan. By offering one flexible rate plan, T-Mobile vowed to put an end to the pricing shell game and compulsory haggling businesses currently experience. T-Mobile’s Simple Choice for Business plans have a 10-line minimum. Each line will come with unlimited talk and text, and up to 1 GB of data on the company’s 4G LTE network.

Don't Look Now, but Ads Are Coming to Snapchat


Ads soon will arrive on Snapchat. However, they will not target individual users. Rather, they’ll appear in a more generalized fashion within the service’s Snapchat Stories feature among shared photos and videos, CEO Evan Spiegel said Wednesday.
A new service for disappearing content and ads, called “Snapchat Discovery,” reportedly also is in the works for launch this year. For three-year-old Snapchat, recently valued at $10 billion, reportedly has drawn funding interest from Yahoo, among others. Ads will represent its first source of revenue.
