Echo Owners May Get Their Own Kind of Music

Amazon is planning two music subscription services, according to rumors that began circulating last week. One is a $10 a month offering that is similar to Spotify and Apple Music, and the other is a $4-$5 a month cut-rate service available only on Amazon’s Echo device. Amazon reportedly wants to launch both in September, but it has yet to finalize deals with major music labels and publishers, or to settle on pricing for the Echo-only service, which will be ad-free and offer unlimited music on demand.

Rumors about the Galaxy S7 have been circulating since Samsung’s current smartphone hit stores – if not earlier – and while most have been seemingly based on sheer conjecture or else not worth repeating, the latest offerings seem a bit more believable. Korean news outlet ETNews is reporting that the new super smartphone will make its official debut in January – possibly the 19th – and that there should be both a “premium” and a “sub-premium” variant.

McDonald's Tips Android Pay Launch

An internal McDonald’s memo labeled “proprietary and confidential” has been circulating, advising employees to get ready for a Wednesday launch of Android Pay — the successor to Google Wallet, and Google’s answer to Apple Pay. Google officially announced Android Pay this spring during I/O, saying only that Android Pay would launch with “Android M.” Android 6.0 Marshmallow is slated for a Q3 2015 release, but because Android Pay won’t be exclusive to Marshmallow, it’s indeed possible that it may launch somewhere this week.
