Apple to build $2 billion green data center at failed GTAT sapphire plant

The Arizona facilities associated with Apple’s failed partnership with GT Advanced Technologies will be transformed into a new “global command” data center for the company employing 150 people full-time, thanks to a major $2 billion investment from the iPhone maker.
