LinkedIn on Wednesday began rolling out Trending Storylines, a feature that offers curated feeds of the most interesting developing stories in a member’s industry. Storylines are personalized for members through a combination of algorithms and the choices of LinkedIn’s editorial team.
The feeds may include perspectives from relevant influencers and news sources, as well as individuals in the member’s LinkedIn network. Each Storyline will have its own hashtag, so other members can join the conversation.

Apple's New Space Station Ready for Takeoff


Apple on Wednesday announced that its long-awaited new headquarters, anchored by a 2.8 million square foot mothership building, is near completion. Named “Apple Park,” the complex will make its official debut in April. The 175-acre campus, which falls somewhere between the Pentagon and an Olympic village in terms of size, is the fulfillment of the dream of Apple cofounder Steve Jobs. It will be the new home for more than 12,000 corporate employees. It will take about six months for staff to relocate to the campus.

Google on Wednesday said it removed 1.7 billion bad advertisements from its various sites in 2016, more than double the prior year’s totals. Amazon Prime Air Zips Through British Countryside


Amazon on Wednesday announced that it had completed its first drone delivery in the UK. During the private customer trial period, packages of up to 5 pounds will be delivered within half an hour. The first live delivery took place a week ago, when a highly automated drone delivered a bag of popcorn and an Amazon Fire TV to a customer near Cambridge. It took 13 minutes from the time the customer clicked the order for it to arrive. So far, only two customers are participating in the trial.

Facebook Share Price Falls Despite Blowout Quarter


Facebook on Wednesday reported a record Q3, beating analysts’ expectations for the fourth straight quarter, but investors’ concerns about the future drove down share prices. They closed Thursday at $119.95, down more than $7 from Wednesday’s closing price of $127.17. Friday saw little movement, with a closing price of $120.75. Facebook posted adjusted earnings of $1.09 per share on revenue of more than $7 billion for the quarter, compared with 57 cents per share and $4.5 billion in revenue in Q3 2015.
