Walmart on Thursday began testing a two-day unlimited shipping service priced at $49 a year. Subscribers will get more than a million items, including the most commonly purchased items on Walmart.com, delivered to their door in two days or fewer, Walmart spokesperson Bao Nguyen said. “Customers will continue to enjoy their two favorite features — no minimum order requirements and free returns online and in stores.” The service, called “ShippingPass,” launched last year as a three-day shipping pilot program with a $50 annual subscription fee.

AT&T Baits Pay-TV Hooks With Unlimited Mobile Data


AT&T on Tuesday began offering unlimited mobile data to its pay TV customers. New or existing DirecTV and U-Verse TV subscribers can get unlimited talk, text and data for $100 per month. AT&T will charge $40 for two additional phones, and a fourth phone will be free. Subscribers can add smartwatches and certain connected devices to their unlimited plans for $10 per device. They can add feature phones for $25 per device. Tablets are eligible for inclusion for $40 or $10 for 1 GB per month.

Microsoft on Tuesday said it would stop offering unlimited OneDrive storage for Office 365 customers and would cut the amount of free storage it offers. Some users abused the unlimited feature, exceeding 75 TB per user, or 14,000 times the average, the company said. Office 365 Home, Personal and University subscribers no longer will get unlimited storage; instead, they’ll get 1 TB of OneDrive storage for free. Free OneDrive storage will be slashed from 15 GB to 5 GB for all current and new users beginning early next year.
