Most Marketers Struggle to Reach Targeted Customers


Sixty percent of the digital marketing professionals who responded to a recent survey reported difficulty in reaching their target audiences with messaging and content. Only 19 percent of those surveyed were “very familiar” with how automation could help drive marketing campaigns, according to the report Ytel released Wednesday. Fifty-eight percent of those surveyed said they liked to use phones for marketing. However, when it came to the tools they used the most, about 39 percent mainly used email.

B2B Tech Marketers Have Work Cut Out for Them


Product reliability and ease of use are key for B2B technology marketers, according to a recent survey of technology product and service decision makers in the U.S. Four hundred B2B tech buyers participated in the survey, conducted for Lavidge by WestGroup Research. Overall, 68 percent cited reliability as the most critical criterion in their purchase decisions; 64 percent said ease of use was key. Among preferred marketing tactics, 40 percent of the decision makers ranked meeting marketers in person as their top preference.

Has Marketing Automation Started Making Sense?


B2B marketing automation has a long way to go, suggest the results of a recent survey of more than 350 marketing professionals. Act-On Software commissioned Econsultancy to conduct the research for its State of B2B Marketing report released last week.
Only 51 percent of respondents said the CMO or equivalent took a keen interest in marketing automation, and just 37 percent said the issue got executive support outside the marketing department. Marketing automation “is a rapidly evolving industry,” noted Meg Columbia-Walsh, CEO of Wylei.

Consumers Will Pay to Be Pleased: Survey


Eighty percent of participants in a recent Capgemini consumer survey said they would pay more for a better customer experience, and 9 percent were willing to pay up to 50 percent more. Researchers polled 3,300 customers of 125 companies in the utilities, consumer products, retail, retail banking, and Internet-based services sectors. Among the respondents were 450 senior executives from customer experience, customer service, IT, marketing and sales departments at 150 companies.

Report: Mobile Payments Won't Be a Thing This Holiday Season


Bankrate.com on Monday released results of a survey showing that even though consumers may have more mobile payment options this holiday season, more than two-thirds of shoppers won’t be using them. That’s because seven out of 10 Americans surveyed said they’ll be using cash or a debit card for most of their holiday buys, according to Bankrate. Another 22 percent of the 1,000 adults surveyed said they would do their shopping with credit cards, and 3 percent said they’d be shopping with checks.
