6 Ways to Boost Your Mobile Commerce Performance

One thing the latest holiday sales season made crystal clear is that mobile commerce is on the rise. On Cyber Monday — which set an all-time-high overall sales record of $6.6 billion — mobile shopping totaled 47.4 percent of visits to retailers’ websites, according to Adobe. However, etailers could do much more to milk the mobile shopping cow. Revenue per visitor is 56 percent lower on mobile than on desktop. “Traditional mobile sites aren’t designed for the way people want to discover new products,” said Graham Cooke, CEO of Qubit.

5 Ways Etailers Can Fight Chargeback Fraud

This holiday selling season may have been a good one for retailers, but every silver lining has a cloud. Etailers are “more susceptible to chargebacks, as they deal in card-not-present transactions,” observed Monica Eaton-Cardone, COO of Chargebacks911.

Revisiting Show Season

Show season changes the CRM market. One day you’re in the vanilla application software space, and a week later you understand the need to incorporate social media or analytics or machine learning, or you see a need for enhanced integration and development through platform services. It goes on. Today, in the wake of Oracle, Salesforce, Microsoft and many other companies’ trade shows, we’re again taking a look at the available suites. This time, we need to think less about what’s been added and how well-integrated the components are.

It's Mud Season Again

It’s mud season here in New England — that time of year when everything merges into an amorphous mess. The gray sky merges with a gray landscape made into slop by continual rains and dirty gray melting snow. It’s hard to tell where one thing ends and another begins. Eventually the sun comes out and dries everything, the sky becomes distinct from the horizon, plants bloom from the firming ground, and order is restored. What better time for Amazon and Salesforce to announce another partnership?

The Gears of E-Commerce

As the U.S. retail industry puts another long holiday shopping season behind it, a few changes appear to be taking place. For one thing, it appears there’s a new recipe for success. Growing a business requires more than setting up a fancy website, placing inventory into a warehouse, and engaging a service to make speedy deliveries. There are severe costs and challenges involved in building a successful e-commerce operation, and today’s customers have little patience for an online experience that falls short.
