Microsoft Quashes Bitcoin Scare


Micrososft on Monday withdrew a notice posted earlier in the day to its Windows website, which declared that bitcoin currency no longer would be accepted in its users’ accounts. “We continue to support Bitcoin for adding money to your Microsoft Account which can be used for purchasing content in the Windows and Xbox stores,” the company said. “We apologize for inaccurate information that was inadvertently posted to a Microsoft site, which is currently being corrected.”

DoT May Rule Out In-Flight Cellphone Talking


The U.S. Department of Transportation is drafting a notice of proposed rulemaking, or NPRM, that could restrict consumers’ ability to talk on their cellphones during airplane flights. Following last year’s Federal Communications Commission proposal to overturn decades-old rules barring in-flight cellphone use, the DoT earlier this year issued an invitation for comment as to whether it should adopt a rule to restrict voice communications on passengers’ mobile wireless devices on scheduled flights within, to and from the United States.
