Facebook Tinkers With M-Commerce Tools


Facebook on Monday added several new features designed to encourage m-commerce. One of them, Canvas, aims to improve mobile ad delivery. It isn’t that people flat-out dislike ads on Facebook. However, Facebook’s ad delivery service has suffered from the derailing effect of the redirect. Canvas is designed to plug the conversion leak. When consumers come across a compelling ad in their News Feed, they now have to wait for their browsers to launch a new tab and then for the assets from the merchant’s website to appear.

Microsoft Recruits Dell, HP to Expand Enterprise Surface Area


Microsoft on Tuesday launched the Surface Enterprise Initiative, a partnership program designed to encourage adoption of Windows 10 in the enterprise. This follows a strong first month of general availability, with 75 million devices already running the new operating system. First in line to participate in the Surface Enterprise Initiative were Dell and HP. Both companies have agreed to sell Microsoft’s Surface Pro 3 tablet and accessories in their respective online stores.

YouTube Adds More Tools to Creators' Belts


YouTube last week announced the addition of new bells and whistles for videographers, apparently to encourage them to create more high-quality content. An updated audio library offers thousands of royalty-free sound effects, along with more free songs.
