Security is being handled in ways that address both hardware and software vulnerabilities, but these things aren’t what customers spend their days thinking about. While everyone wants security, the attitude is that it’s someone else’s job. Platforms, on the other hand, affect more people — and importantly, they are key to making and saving money.

Salesforce Reels BeyondCore Into Its Cloud


Salesforce has inked an agreement to acquire BeyondCore, a data analytics firm that already has integrated its latest release with Salesforce, the companies said Monday. BeyondCore will become part of the Salesforce Analytics Cloud, extending smart data discovery and advanced analytics capabilities across the entire Salesforce Customer Success Platform, according to BeyondCore CEO Arijit Sengupta. The acquisition will boost the Analytics Cloud’s artificial intelligence efforts, according to Salesforce CEO Marc Benioff.

Facebook AI Digs Deep Into User Content


Facebook on Wednesday introduced DeepText, an artificial intelligence-fueled text analytics engine. “Text is a prevalent form of communication on Facebook,” wrote Facebook software engineers Ahmad Abdulkader, Aparna Lakshmiratan and Joy Zhang in a post describing its capabilities. “Understanding the various ways text is used on Facebook can help us improve people’s experiences with our products,” they continued, “whether we’re surfacing more of the content that people want to see or filtering out undesirable content like spam.”

Google Supercharges Enterprise Analytics


Google on Tuesday announced a suite of analytics products for marketers. IBM Watson Forks Over $2.6B for Health Data Stash
