All Sony Mini DV tapes feature a Diamond-Like Carbon coating protective layer, which improves durability and helps prevent shedding and drop out. EXcellence grade minidv tape has 2dB higher carrier to noise ratio (vs. PR) making it ideal for LP recording and fewer dropouts. This tape is the same quality as the Sony DVM-60 EXM and EXM2, but doesn't have the shot logging memory chip.
