proVanceTek Works With ECU UTD, WRNS, and Chili's on St. Jude Fundraising Event
We've been working closely with the Greenville, NC Chili's Grill and Bar, East Carolina University Up 'til Dawn, and WRNS Radio on a St. Jude Children's Research Hospital fundraising event planned for 2 March 2009. The event basically entails no effort on the donor's behalf - simply show up at one of five Chili's in Eastern North Carolina on March 2nd, eat dinner as you normally would, and Chili's will donate 10% of the bill to St. Jude!
proVanceTek has been generating print media for the event to be distributed locally around Greenville in neighborhoods, at local businesses, on the campus of East Carolina University, etc. Here is one example of a flyer we designed to help promote the event.
Additionally, proVanceTek has been working with East Carolina University Up 'til Dawn on their similar, every Wednesday, events. It almost appears as if the idea was borrowed from ECU UTD, as they had been working with Chili's in Greenville on organizing their Wednesday events and had already hosted two before the WRNS event was even planned - great minds think alike! To help UTD raise money for St. Jude, simply visit their website, print their Chili's Fundraising Flyer, eat dinner as you normally would at the Greenville Chili's every Wednesday, present the flyer to your server, and Chili's will donate 10% of the bill to St. Jude!

Another Invisible Children Benefit Concert!
You may recall that we worked with the Hilliard Davidson High School Symphony Orchestra in November of 2007 on a project that was to benefit concert for the children of Uganda, which are suffering from a twenty year war that has ravaged their country.
We were once again asked to assist Hilliard Davidson High School and Invisible Children with the audio design and engineering, along with the video production for their concert in the Hilliard Davidson High School Performing Arts Center.
Similar to the last benefit concert, we're also planning on producing a short video that will accompany the orchestra during their closing number. The montage-like video will feature still photos from Uganda, video recorder in Uganda, and artistic live video shots of the orchestra as they perform.
The concert is free of cost, but donations will be accepted to benefit the children through the care of Invisible Children Inc.

Trip to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital
Owner of proVanceTek, Robert Vance, has been serving as an Associate Executive Board member of East Carolina University Up 'til Dawn, a group that does fundraising for St. Jude Children's Research Hospital. proVanceTek designed, hosts, and helps maintain the group's website and assists them with the design, preparation, and execution of their marketing campaigns.
A couple of recent projects that Robert has helped the group with include designing marketing materials for their booth a the Down East Holiday Show at the Greenville Convention Center, event planning for a Trick-or-Treat, so St. Jude Kids Can Eat food drive, creation and printing of marketing materials and event planning for their annual Letter Sending Campaign, marketing materials and event planning for Chili's Big Day event, and more.
Robert was invited to join the group in their visit to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital in Memphis, TN November 20-22, arranged by ALSAC. Through business connections, Robert was able to make arrangements for the group to also visit the Memphis Ronald McDonald House, which strictly houses patients and families of patients of St. Jude.

Up 'til Dawn partnership with proVanceTek
We're proud to be hosting Up 'til Dawn's website. We even prouder to be providing other services above and beyond the call of duty. Our partnership with Up 'til Dawn began with designing and hosting their website and has spawned into a much closer business relationship.
The East Carolina University student organization was in need of some marketing and graphic design experience, proVanceTek has been helping the group create and print marketing materials to distribute on campus to students and faculty and to potential sponsoring businesses throughout Greenville, NC.
In addition to the paper marketing materials, we're also currently helping the group produce a promotional videos that will be used to recruit students on campus to get involved. Tentative plans are to have the video play prior to movies that are played in the on-campus movie theater, aired as a public service announcement on the campus cable network, and projected on the sides of buildings on campus. Keep an eye on the Up 'til Dawn website for the upcoming releases!
New Up 'til Dawn Website Released
proVanceTek is proud to be hosting the East Carolina University Up 'til Dawn website and has added some new features for online registration for events, calender, photo galleries, donations, document management, and much more!
The ECU Up 'til Dawn website was a recent acquisition from proVanceTek's owner's previous venture corporation. The website was designed from one of St. Jude's sanctioned templates to incorporate the East Carolina University branding banner across the top. The St. Jude HTML template was modified and ported over to a Wordpress website installation as a Wordpress theme.
The new website is utilizing the Drupal Content Management System. The website is a large improvement over the old Wordpress based website. There are several layers of user roles that allow Up 'til Dawn Board members access to pages and files that the general public does not have the ability to access. Likewise, sponsors and volunteers have their respective roles. We've utilized out-of-the-box Drupal modules to accomplish some of the groups needs, but we've customized others as needed.

Beating Myeloma Walkathon Success
We designed a web application for Beating Myeloma, an existing proVanceTek client, that allowed them to manage their walkathon event that was a cross between the well known Race for the Cure and the St. Jude Up 'til Dawn "50 Names Fast" program.
The Second Annual Galen Foundation Walk the Walk, Talk the Talkathon took place Saturday, June 21st, 2008 from 10am to noon at the University Upper School track.
If over a hundred pledges, resulting in nearly $12,000 in donations isn't proof enough of the event's success, check out their event video on the Beating Myeloma website. Last couple years, David Emerson, founder of Beating Myeloma and the Galen Foundation, walked by himself, accepting donations from friends and family, and raised about three grand. This year, he expanded operations to include other walkers and reaped the reward of more donations than ever.

Walkathon Fundraising Web Application for Beating Myeloma
Beating Myeloma, an existing proVanceTek client, requested that we help them design a web based application for a fundraising project of theirs.
The event is to be similar to the well known Race for the Cure combined with the St. Jude Up 'til Dawn "50 Names Fast" program. The Second Annual Galen Foundation Walk the Walk, Talk the Talkathon is to take place Saturday, June 21st, 2008 from 10am to noon at the Chagrin Falls High School track.
Because their existing website is maintained in Drupal, we needed to design something for the CMS so it would be transparent to the end user. We utilized existing Drupal modules that did things that were similar to what we needed and modified them where necessary.

Jessica Grové, Broadway Comes Home Benefit Concert
On December 2, 2007, Jessica Grové and a score of Broadway and local Ohio performers held a benefit concert at Hilliard Davidson High School in Hilliard, Ohio to kick off the Hilliard Education Foundation's Jessica Grové Fund for the Performing Arts.
Robert Nelson Vance, of proVanceTek, was the sound designer for this event which was held in the Hilliard Davidson High School Performing Arts Center. Sound amplification for the thousand seat auditorium included four vocalist, a children's choir, a grand piano, an acoustic bass, an acoustic-electric guitar, and an emcee, in addition to a three channel on-stage monitor mix for the performers.
The fund will benefit theatre students at Hilliard Davidson High School, Hilliard Darby High School, and Hilliard Bradley High School. The four performers, one of whom was fellow Broadway star Dan Cooney, performed hits from classic Broadway shows, as well as three pop songs and a combination with The Columbus Children's Niña Choir.
Invisible Children Benefit Concert
On November 28, 2007, the Chamber Orchestra at Hilliard Davidson High School held a benefit concert for the children of Uganda, which are suffering from a twenty year war that has ravaged their country.
Robert Nelson Vance, owner of proVanceTek, was asked to assist Hilliard Davidson High School and Invisible Children with the audio design and engineering, along with the video production for their concert in the Hilliard Davidson High School Performing Arts Center.
The concert was free of cost, but donations could be made to benefit the children through the care of Invisible Children Inc. The Chamber Orchestra performed songs from several classic rock bands, including the Rolling Stones, Led Zeppelin, and The Doors. The concert featured several videos from Invisible Children.
We produced a four minute video to accompany the orchestra and dancers for their closing arrangement of the concert. It was projected on a 30 foot tall, 50 foot wide theatrical cyclorama located upstage of the orchestra. A still frame of the projected video can be seen in the above image.
The concert was featured in the article "Dancer finds way to help Ugandan children" from ThisWeek Community Newspapers on November 27, 2007.
