The day Apple initially picked to launch the Apple Watch was in some respects a dud. The device was not available for sale in Apple Stores on Friday as previously scheduled, although it was available at some high-end fashion boutiques. Confusion reigned over shipments, with Apple earlier having announced that deliveries would be pushed back to June, but later saying some preorders would be shipped early after all. Apple reportedly told its Apple Store employees to direct customers to order the Apple Watch online.
