Jessica Grové, Broadway Comes Home Benefit Concert
On December 2, 2007, Jessica Grové and a score of Broadway and local Ohio performers held a benefit concert at Hilliard Davidson High School in Hilliard, Ohio to kick off the Hilliard Education Foundation's Jessica Grové Fund for the Performing Arts.
Robert Nelson Vance, of proVanceTek, was the sound designer for this event which was held in the Hilliard Davidson High School Performing Arts Center. Sound amplification for the thousand seat auditorium included four vocalist, a children's choir, a grand piano, an acoustic bass, an acoustic-electric guitar, and an emcee, in addition to a three channel on-stage monitor mix for the performers.
The fund will benefit theatre students at Hilliard Davidson High School, Hilliard Darby High School, and Hilliard Bradley High School. The four performers, one of whom was fellow Broadway star Dan Cooney, performed hits from classic Broadway shows, as well as three pop songs and a combination with The Columbus Children's Niña Choir.
All ticket sales and private donations were used to launch the Grové Fund, which will help to eliminate financial barriers for talented college-bound senior theatre students.
The fund and concert were both developed by Jessica's father, with support from the Hilliard Davidson theatre and Hilliard Darby theatre staffs.
